FCP hires Glen Stewart as business development manager

PressSignificantly strengthened business team prepares for 2010 product launches

Future Capital Partners (“FCP”), the £6 billion alternative investment boutique, has further strengthened its business development team with the appointment of Glen Stewart as Business Development Manager.

Glen will be responsible for building strong working relationships with both clients and intermediaries. FCP’s investment opportunities are available to investors through financial institutions, wealth managers, IFAs and accountants, and Glen will help to further develop FCP’s network of these intermediaries. He will also play a significant role in business development and client liaison.

Among Glen’s primary responsibilities will be the marketing of FCP’s newly launched Future Fuels. Future Fuels is an LLP established to build a renewable transport fuel (RTF) plant in the North East of England. Future Fuels will give UK investors access to the to the rapidly growing RTF sector for the first time, and the firm expects the project to yield returns of over 30% per annum over a five to seven year period.

Glen will report to Piers Denne as part of a business development team that was significantly bolstered at the end of last year. Piers Denne was appointed in November to an expanded Head of Sales and Marketing role, following Andrew Derrington’s appointment as Business Development Manager in November. The team will develop and execute marketing strategies for a series of new and innovative investment opportunities that FCP have planned for the first half of 2010.

Glen has over 10 years’ experience within the investment and tax arenas, the last three of which have been spent at Ingenious Media Investments, working within FCP’s specialist area of high quality alternative investments which are structured to mitigate downside and enhance returns. As Business Development Manager, he built up a significant knowledge of, and network of contacts within, the intermediary market.

Prior to this Glen was Sales Manager for Deloitte & Touche, responsible for developing client opportunities. He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax consultant, and has held similar roles at PFK and at his own tax consultancy.

Piers Denne said:

“2010 is set to be a crucial year in Future’s development. We have recently launched Future Fuels and we are preparing to roll out a raft of new products in the coming months. The hires we have made, and continue to make, to the business development team have given us an ideal platform to market these opportunities to our existing investors, and to create a new network of clients. 2009 was extremely productive for Future, both in terms of product development and new business, and given all the new high quality products coming to market from Future we’re confident that we can outperform last year’s growth in the coming year. Glen will play an important part in that process, and we’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Glen Stewart added:

“Future has an unparalleled reputation for being on the cutting edge of the investment industry, and the pipeline of new products - like Future Fuels - will give investors a first chance to access brand new areas of investment. I’m very excited to be joining such a fast growing and innovative firm.”
